Josephine Saddle

Back to Natural Points of Interest

Josephine Saddle is a great stopping place for a hike going up Colby Canyon (before returning down the trailhead to Angeles Crest Highway) or to take a break for a longer hike. There are great views from the saddle, a pretty nice flat area. Also at the saddle area is the top of a water tank which provides a nice place to sit and dangle one’s legs while taking in the view.

Hikes:

  1. Colby Canyon Trail to Josephine Saddle, 4.4 miles, 1400′ gain and loss.
  2. Colby Canyon Trail to Josephine Peak, 8.4 miles, 2150′ gain and loss.
  3. Colby Canyon Trail to Josephine Peak and Strawberry Meadow/Potrero: 14.8 miles, 3,070 of gain and loss.
