Lower Sunset Ridge to Millard Falls

Trailhead: Millard Canyon at the gate.

Trail: Lower Sunset Ridge to Millard Falls. The falls trail itself is only one-mile round trip. This route starts further away to add some mileage by descending the lower portion of the Sunset Ridge Trail.

Description: Walk past the gate at the upper parking lot for Millard Canyon (T2 on trailhead map–see link above), and turn left to follow the lower portion of the Sunset Ridge Trail to Millard Campground.

Walk through Millard Campground and take the Millard Falls Trail at the end of the campground. Expect a lot of stream crossings. After heavy storms when the falls are at their best, getting ankle deep in water is unavoidable and some short walks (I wouldn’t call it boulder hopping) through the stream is required.
