Trailhead: Baldy Notch
Trail: Devil’s Backbone Trail from Baldy Notch to Mt. Baldy
Stats: 6.4 miles, 2225” gain and loss
Last Hiked: 10-28-12
Trail Segments: Take the Ski Lift up from the parking area at the end of Mt. Baldy Road to Baldy Notch. From Baldy Notch take the road up to the Devil’s Backbone Trail to Mt. Baldy.

this is a great hike. i did this twice this past year except i hiked all the way from the campground below.

One of my favorites. Next time you hike up from Manker Flats you may want to try the Register Ridge Trail that branches off the Baldy Bowl Trail (aka The Ski Hut Trail) See: https://hikingangelesforest.com/trail-segments/manker-flats-segments/register-ridge-s/

yes! i usually hike up devil’s backbone and down via skit hut. I want to try hiking up directly from the visitor center though. i heard that’s quite a challenge
