Route Description: The Pacific Crest Trail was re-routed since the background map above was created. This hike follows the current path. Follow the Pacific Crest Trail up until it reaches a saddle near Mt. Pacifico. A road is easily seen at this point. Hike up to the road and turn left (toward Mt. Pacifico) and look for a faint hiker’s trail less than 100′ away. Follow the steep hiker’s trail to the peak. Near the summit, there are currently numerous fallen trees somewhat blocking the trail. They are easy to get around. Just head left around the large rock outcrop at the summit. To this point in the hike, great views are had when looking west or north. Returning via the road allows for nice long views east and south. To do that, walk through the campground on the peak and follow the road back down to Mill Creek.
