5. Muir Peak from Upper Sunset Ridge. Upper parking lot in Millard Canyon following the Sunset Ridge Trail to the Cape of Good Hope, the Lower Mt. Lowe Railway Bed to Echo Mountain, the Castle Canyon Trail to Inspiration Point, The One Man & Mule Trail to the Muir Peak Trail to Muir Peak, back to Inspiration Point, down Mt. Lowe Road to The Upper Mt. Lowe Railroad Bed, down to Mt. Lowe Campground, down to the Cape of Good Hope, down Upper Sunset Ridge to parking: 12.9 miles, 2760′ gain and loss. First Hike: 1-27-2016
6. Cobb Estate Trailhead: Lower Sam Merrill Trail to Echo Mountain; Castle Canyon Trail to Inspiration Point; OM&M Railway Trail to Muir Peak Trail up to Muir Peak; back to Inspiration Point, East Mt. Lowe Trail to Mt. Lowe; Sam Merrill Trails back to Cobb Estate: 14.8 miles, 4070′ gain and loss. First Hike: 2-25-13.
