Trail Segments: From Eaton Saddle, follow the road through Mueller Tunnel to Markham Saddle.  At Markham Saddle, there are three trails. Take the Lower Mt. Lowe Trail past the JCT to Mt. Markham to the JCT of the Upper East Mt. Lowe Trail. At the signed junction, turn right and take the Upper East Mt. Lowe Trail past the JCT with the Upper Sam Merrill Trail to Mt. Lowe. Descend Mt. Lowe and take the Upper Sam Merrill Trail to Mt. Lowe Road. Turn left and take Mt. Lowe Road to Lowe Saddle. Follow the Middle Sam Merrill Trail down to the trail leading to Echo Mountain, turn left and proceed to the Echo Mountain White City Ruins. Head back to the Castle Canyon Trail and take that to Inspiration Point. From Inspiration Point, continue down the trail heading west back to Lowe Saddle. Follow Mt. Lowe Road back up to the East Mt. Lowe Trail up to the signed junction leading to Mt. Lowe and retrace your steps back down to Eaton Saddle.
