Mt. Williamson

Elevation: 8214′

Note: Mt. Williamson has three bumps. Only the first bump (east) is named. The middle bump and west bump are both higher in elevation.

Hikes:

  1. Islip Saddle to Mt. Williamson to Angeles Crest mile marker 62.50 Shuttle Hike: 4.1 miles, 1545′ of gain, 1515′ of loss. First Hike: 5-29-2017.
  2. Angeles Crest Trailhead at Mile Marker 62.50: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson; continue along Pleasant View Ridge up to the 2nd bump of Mt. Williamson (8244′); up to the 3rd bump of Mt. Williamson (8248′); return the same way: 5 miles, 1800′ gain and loss. First Hike: 6-7-2014.
  3. Islip Saddle Trailhead: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson; continue along Pleasant View Ridge up to the 2nd bump of Mt. Williamson (8244′); back.the same way: About 5.1 miles, 1745′ of gain and loss. First Hike: 9-15-2013.
  4. Islip Saddle Trailhead: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson; continue along Pleasant View Ridge up to the 2nd bump of Mt. Williamson (8244′); up to the 3rd bump of Mt. Williamson (8248′) and down to the first saddle leading to Pallett Mountain; back.the same way: About 6 miles, 2155′ of gain and loss. First Hike: 8-31-2012.
  5. Eagles Roost to all three bumps of Mt. Williamson; return the same way: 6.8 miles, 2185′ of gain and loss. First Hike: 7-26-2015.
  6. Angeles Crest Trailhead at Mile Marker 62.50: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson; continue along Pleasant View Ridge up to the 2nd bump of Mt. Williamson (8244′); up to the 3rd bump of Mt. Williamson (8248′); continued toward Pallet Mountain, explored the next bump and the saddle beyond it; made a wrong turn trying to reach Pallett Mountain and turned back the same way. About 7 miles 2750′ gain and loss. First hike: 11-21-2012.
  7. From the Islip Saddle Trailhead: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson (including the 2nd and 3rd bump) to Pallett Mountain; 9.1 miles, 3877′ of gain and loss.
  8. → Backpacking trip. Day one: Islip Saddle Trailhead: Pacific Crest Trail to Pleasant View Ridge to Mt. Williamson; continue along Pleasant View Ridge past 2nd bump of Mt. Williamson, up to the 3rd bump of Mt. Williamson (8248′); continue on the Pleasant View Ridge Trail to Pallet Mountain. Day two: Pallet Mountain down to Burkhart Saddle; Burkhart Trail to Buckhorn Campground; Shuttle Hike; 10.1 miles, 3614′ gain, 3814′ loss. First Hike: 6-29-2014.
